Rules for travel to Venice from 6th to 30th April 2021

April brings again new rules for travellers, residents of Venice and all those who need to stay in Venice, we at Luxrest Venice, as usual, always check the latest official news and update our blog accordingly.

From the 6th of April 2021 Venice and the Veneto region are again classified as orange, which means: all shops open, freedom of movement within the municipality with no need to have an self-certification. Bars and restaurants are limited to take away service, most schools are open. Churches are always open. Museums, theatres, cinemas, gym-clubs, swimming pools are still closed. The curfew remains from 10 pm to 5 am as well as the travel ban between the Italian regions, apart for reasons of: work, study, health, return to the main residence, reaching second homes (limited to the family unit). These exceptions to the travel ban are always vaild, also in red zones.

Concerning travels from abroad: when travelling to Venice and Italy from EU countries, Austria, Israel, UK, Northern Ireland, all visitors must present a negative molecular or covid swab test, taken 48 hours before entering Italy; then there is a 5 days quarantine (that you can also spend at home, at the hotel or at the apartment you booked) and a second covid test to have after the 5 days. There are no limitations to the reason of the trip.

When travelling to Venice and Italy from non EU countries, a negative test taken 48 hours before entering Italy and a 14 days quarantine is requested and travels are limited to essential reasons.
