Venice Carnival edition 2022 is about to start!
After a one-year hiatus (and a previous, sudden interruption) due to the pandemic, Venice carnival is about to start again! It will be a somehow limited edition, in order to avoid risk of gatherings, but still, we're very pleased to announce that the spirit of the carnival will float through Venice!
Venice Carnival will start on the 12th of February 2022 and will end on Mardigras, on the 1st of March 2022. The main theme will be widespread art and performances through the city, you can check the program here.
From Friday 18th February to Tuesday 1st March the following museums will be open until 10PM:
- The St Mark’s square museum (Doge’s Palace and Museo Correr)
- 18th-century Venice Museums (Ca’ Rezzonico – Museum of 18th-Century Venice, Carlo Goldoni’s House, Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo – Study Centre for the History of Textiles and Costumes)
To visit the 18th-century Venice museums you can purchase a cumulative ticket at a special price. The entrance is free for residents.
In addition to the extraordinary openings, it will take place a free event dedicated to children and families at Ca’ Pesaro, in the International Gallery of Modern Art.
Last but not least, from the 11th of February it won't be necessary to wear a mask outdoor, unless in case of gatherings.
